You will likely have a waterproof bandage on when you get home, if so, you may shower immediately.  Once the waterproof bandage is taken off, you can shower with it uncovered if there is no drainage.  If the incision is still draining, you must keep it covered with a waterproof bandage.  Do not scrub it.  Just let the soapy water run over it and blot dry after the shower.
